Excerpt | Buenos Aires (founded in 1580), federal capital of the Republic of the Argentine (since 1880), has its history reflected by several city museums. The Museum of Buenos Aires is housed in a 1894 traditional building, and presents almost exclusively temporary exhibitions. This museum is involved in preserving various patrimony objects and precious 8th and 19th century edifices. A second history museum of Buenos Aires is the „Brigadier general Cornelio de Saavedra", presenting the everyday life, during the 19th century. The two museums are working under the care of the Government, and complete each other's activities. |
