Banker Mauriciu Blank (1848-1929) was a Romanian personality determinant for the creation and development of naţional scale private financial activities. By advantageous financial actions, he became directly involved în economical programs – some with political implications, – which contributed in modernizing the country. When he died he was honoured by naţional funerals, noted personalities commemorating his activity and personality. For him and his family, architect Duiliu Marcu conceived a special funeral space – the Blank burial vault – in the Aviana-Băneasa wood, an architectural work remarcable by its composition and harmonization with the natural environment. |
