Excerpt | Bucharest has known many calamities, among which, various catastrophical epidemics. Scarlet fever, consumption, cholera, plague, exanthema fever were among the most disastrous. The intensity of the epidemics varied according to some epidemiologic characteristics due to the socio-economical and sanitary conditions of each epoch. The paper analyses the disease which was typical of the war times, a disease that has caused serious trouble to the Romanian soldiers, during the World War I, for instance. |
