Excerpt | For the ones who knew him, Dragos Morărescu was a man who eagerly shared his love of art with anyone who first stepped into his home. Morărescu was a gifted painter and a poet, too, and the author of the present paper had the opportunity to visit his collection several decades ago, recalling the feeling he had that there was no room there to make the next step, careful not to disturb anything, each item being subtly connected to its neighboring ones. Dragos Morărescu studied Fine Arts and Architecture between 1944-1949. He was one of the few who dared collect art objects, in a time when such a hobby proved to be hazardous. The author expresses his hope that art collections would re-become a widespread practice, as it used to be before the World War II. |
