Excerpt | The famous „ Cişmigiu" gardens, situated in the center of Bucharest, were arranged during the first half of the XIXth century, following an initiative of the Count Kisseleff; the works began in 1837, under the supervision of the landscape artist Karl Wilhem Friedrich Meyer, also author of the Kisseleff gardens. The study, based on unpublished documents, presents the steps in the creation of the Cişmigiu gardens, concerning the acquisition of plants, trees, workers, teams formation, expenses. |
