Excerpt | Ludwig Angerer was born in Hungary, at Malatzka, in 1827 and that he studied at Pressburg (Czechoslovakia) and Pesta. He took a degree in pharmacy. He arrived in Bucharest during the Crimean war, by 1856. In 1857 he returned to Vienna. He was one of the first photographers in and of Bucharest, and one of Vienna's greatest photographers as well. On December 24th, 1860, he was appointed Photographer of the Imperial Court. His photographs remain some of the first taken in Bucharest and among the most interesting and expressive. |
