The year 2015 can be declared the Nicolae Iorga year, as we commemorate 75 years since the great historian’s assassination by the „legionaries" (members of the Legion of Michael the Archangel, known as „the Iron Guard" - a philo-nazi organization founded in 1927, by Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, and which undertook a series of political assassinations during the leadership of Horia Sima). Nicolae Iorga had a brilliant intelligence recorded and attested by his prodigious writings involving various aspects of the Romanian culture and civilization.
