For a short time, while he was present in the Romanian Capital, he fulfilled the function of leader of the Mediaeval section of the History Museum of Bucharest. It was the period of reorganization of the institution founded in 1931, at the suggestion of the great historian Nicolae Iorga - reorganization aiming at reopening the main permanent exhibition of the Museum (event that took place on January 23, 1959). Together with George D. Florescu, H. Dj. Siruni, Paul Cernovodeanu and the younger, at that time, Ioana Cristache, Panait I. Panait, Mihai Sâmpetru, the historian Petre Ş. Năsturel has undertaken a fruitful activity in both the museistic and the historiographic fields. In this historical studies, he focused upon the theme of the origins of the town of Bucharest, upon the epigraphic patrimony, upon translating and valuing the Greek documents in the museum’s inventory, upon spreding the knowledge concerning the Middle Ages of the most important Romanian town. By his high knowledge, his exemplary passionate professional involvement by the purity of his feelings, he has remained a worth imitating model for all those who knew him, among whom the museographers and historians of the Municipal Museum of Bucharest. |
