Excerpt | Memorial inscriptions mentioning the soldiers who died during the First World War were set in Bucharest, in different military and civilian institutions, during the interwar period. Most of them were either destroyed or transferred in inaccessible places, during the communist period. The tablets represented samples of authentic patriotism. The article presents tablets dedicated to the Medicine and Law students. The aim of the article is to resurrect the memory of those who died for the country, and the idea of the „ cult of the hero ". |
