Excerpt | A European: Anastase Simu, at one century and a half from his birth The most important art museum from before the totalitarist regime in Romania has enjoyed a wide prestige as a cultural settlement, before the World War II. Its collections were spread, afterwards, among other various museums, where they lacked the special atmosphere they had known in the house which had sheltered them (designed by their owner and demolished during the'60ies). They became a part of the National Art Museum of Romania. The article presents the founder of the museum, Anastase Simu, doctor in law in Bruxelles, member of honor of the Romanian Academy, and, as the author considers - and proves - in his study, a true European personality. |
