Excerpt	Data regarding the history of Bucharest presented in a recent Greek publication Noticing an argument of interest in the history of Bucharest, the author states some reasons of the phenomenon, mentioning, among others, the rise of the „embargo" upon archive documents concerning „ the socialist city", the ceasing of the demolition programme, the sharpening conflict between the „modernist" and the „protectionist" trends in reabilitating the historic center of the Romanian Capital. Among the recent publications dealing with Bucharest, the author refers to a remarkable work of a Greek architect, Mrs. Alexandra Yerolympos, entitled „Urban Transformations in the Balkans" (1820 -1920) (University Studio Press, Thesaloniki ,1996).
