| Excerpt | The Mantuleasa Street, from No. 2 to 42 The object of the study consists of a presentation of the Mantuleasa Street - programmed to be demolished according to the systematization schedules from before the year 1989. The present research refers to the right side of the street, going in the direction of the Republicii Boulevard (Caroll today), describing the houses bearing numbers from 2 to 42. Although the area has been inhabited for a longer period of time, the present buildings only date from the end of the 19th century, and mainly from the interwar epoch, the oldest house being that at no. 18B - from the year 1899. The buildings have an ambiental value and are endowed with decorative elements which confer them value in their details. The history of the area was deeply enrooted in the Bucharestans' consciousness. |
