| Excerpt | „Official Vandalisms The Mayoralty of Bucharest cuts off the four poplars around Mihai Viteazul's Statue" Starting from a vehement article written in 1920, by the poet Ion Minulescu, the author - a fervent stamp and postcard collector - started the research-quest of images representing the famous Bucharestan statue located in front of the University, and representing the ruler Mihai Viteazul on horseback. Four poplars were initially set around the statue - two towards the Soutzou Palace (the Municipality Museum of Bucharest of today), two behind the statue, towards the Russian church. In fact, the area itself was part of a vast park. |
